FMTP Overview

The popular DC Road Runners Club (DCRRC) Fall Marathon Training Program, for runners training for a fall marathon, will begin with its first official workout at SLR on June 4th.  The FMTP benefits both first-time marathoners and runners who have already run a marathon and are seeking to improve their performance.

At the start of the FMTP, participants should be able to complete a long run of 10 miles, and are recommended to have a current weekly running base of 20 total miles per week.  Our workouts and training plans are geared towards the Marine Corps Marathon in late October, but the program accommodates runners training for any fall marathon.

Prior to June 4th, runners are welcome to join members of the DCRRC on Saturday morning long runs, or Wednesday evenings at the Washington and Lee High School track.

Duration. The FMTP is approximately five months long, officially beginning on June 4 and carrying through your 2012 fall marathon.

Price. The FMTP registration fee for DCRRC members is $90, and $110 for non-members (this fee includes DCRRC membership).

Membership Requirement.  Participants must be DCRRC members.  You may sign up for club membership and the FMTP at the same time.

Registration will be open in late April/early May.  Please keep checking!

No refunds.  There will be no refunds for these fees.  Our policy is similar to the policy of most marathons.  Therefore, you should be certain you are able to participate and commit to the FMTP prior to registering.  If, after registering, you become unable to participate for any reason, you may be able to apply your FMTP registration fee towards any other DCRRC training program, at the sole discretion of the program directors.
